tools to grow your business
We hear this a lot when we explain to clients the importance of partnering with Google by using their free tools. So much so, we made this page.
Except for the price of advertising, the tools available by Google are an excellent, and free, means of growing your business online.
Using Google Toolbox for Building Your Online Business
Over 97% of all people use the Internet to research a business or service before making a choice. Because your potential customers are online, you should be also. Here at Solution Web Designs, we not only work with all our tools to get your business up, running, and successful, we also use many of the Google Internet tools to help grow your business.

Internet-savvy customers and businesses alike know Google is the first choice for search engines. Besides having renowned search-engine capabilities, Google also has an arsenal of other tools designed to enhance your business. Here are just a few of the tools Google offers to help your business get noticed online.

Google Places
The fastest way to get your business listed on Google is to add your Business page to Google Places. Google Places allows your business to list, at no charge to you, your businesses name, Internet address, phone number, hours of operation, and even photographs. By sharing your business information, Google is able to match you with customers.

Google Tags
After we have added your business to Google's places feature, we will next create Google Tags for you. These are the bright-yellow tags that mark your business on Google Maps. Google Tags allows you to add content about special offers and promotions you may be running. These tags also appear to people who use their mobile phone to search Google. This advertising costs less than a dollar per day.

Google Boost
Google Boost allows you to reach local customers with what they call "search advertising." Sponsored text ads promoting your business are located both on the search engine feature of Google and on Google Maps. Think of them as tiny billboards your potential customers will see as they search the Internet, and "boost" your business.

Google Adwords
Pay per click with Google Adwords to give you even more advertising options. This service allows you to create a variety of ads that may run as text boxes, photos, videos, even mobile options. Once your ads are created, you can choose which keywords you want associated with your ads. Google Adwords also allows you to determine what time of day you want your ads to run and how often. For example, you can choose to have yours ads run when you are in the office.

Webmaster Central
Webmaster Central is the top resource for all who publish Internet content. This resource provides us and you with all the information we both need to know about how Google's search engine views your website. In addition, Webmaster Central answers questions about Google's own web crawlers, how Google determines indexing and ranking of your business webpage, and offers a toolbox for use that diagnoses any crawling problems that may occur.

Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a key back-end tool to see what web visitors are doing on your website.  By adding a small piece of code, undetectable to customers and viewers of your site we are able to determine:

  • How much traffic and visitors your site receives.
  • Where your traffic and visitors are originating from.
  • How long visitors to your site stay on your pages.
  • Whether or not your traffic is growing and expanding.
  • Which pages have become favorites.
  • Top entrance and exit pages.
  • Conversion rates by all traffic and keywords.
  • Which pay per click keywords have the best ROI.
  • And much more.

Google Analytics is a key tool to help you maximize the design, efficiency, and return on investment of your online marketing program.

Website Optimizer
As we've mentioned previously, your page design has a direct impact on your potential customers. Website Optimizer allows you to test slightly different web designs. By comparing the results of multiple designs, you improve the web metrics of your site. It's customer feedback for you, not about your business, but about your ability to generate leads.

Google Checkout
Google Checkout provides your business with a shopping cart so your customers can make their purchases directly from your site. Fast, and secure, Google Checkout allows your customers to feel good about the security of their banking information and allows them to buy from your site using a single username and a single password.

Google Site Search
Google Site Search allows you to run a Google search engine directly from within your website. If a customer, or web visitor cannot find what they are looking for, they are likely to leave your website.  Some reports claim a web visitor will not look more than three seconds to find something before they exit.

With Google Site Search, your visitors can search your website and get the content they are looking for, quickly and easily. Google Site Search enables them to get the information they need without ever leaving your webpage.

Google Blogger
Google Blogger allows you to share your information with your customers either through a blog or newsletter format. Think of it as "face-to-face" interaction with your customers. Google Blogger also allows you to have a discussion with your customers and potential customers.

Google AdSense
Although it is not listed in the PDF, Google will also partner with you to monetize the content on your website. Generally this is not done with e-commerce websites, but it a means of generating revenue, and offsetting other online marketing costs. If you decide to get started with Google Blogger, you can use AdSense to monetize your blogs.

We hope we have impressed upon you the importance of partnering with Google and seeing all of the capabilities that exist for your business. High quality content is probably the single most important asset you bring to this relationship. Continue with your focus your efforts on that, and these tools will only work that much better.
